I came across this lovely idea while browsing Instagram the other day.
I love blending beets with an apple and some greens and water after a workout as it is, but I’d never thought of blending it with a banana. I had to try it!
Beets and bananas are both an amazing source of nutrients.
Beets are known for their antioxidants and detoxifying qualities, especially for the liver, combined with tons of vitamin C, fiber, manganese, potassium, and folate. Beets are known to help with inflammation and can help lower blood pressure.
Bananas are like nature’s own multivitamin – they’re good for your heart, your brain, your stomach and digestion, and your intestines and keeping regular! The magnesium and fructooligosaccharides in bananas help the body absorb calcium, aiding in bone density and health. Bananas are high in sugar though, like all fruits, and therefore I feel should be consumed in moderation.
– 1 large banana
– 1 large beet, skin removed
– 1-2 cups grain or nut milk of choice (to desired consistency)
– ½ tsp ground cinnamon
Blend all ingredients until smooth and drink immediately.
