“The affairs of the world will go on forever.
Do not delay the practice of meditation.”
Milarepa is often considered one of Tibet’s most famous yogis and poets and was a prominent figure in the history of Tibetan Buddhism.
Here he shares wisdom concerning the importance of committing to consistent meditation practice.
Many find that the demands and rush of daily life leave little time for them to set aside time to meditate, often putting it off to a day when things will be ‘less hectic’ or when they will have less responsibilities on their plates.
The reality of life is that these busy tasks will forever come and go – as soon as one is taken care of, one or two more pop up to take its place. Such is the nature of daily modern life.
If we continue to put off meditation until life allows us the time to easily fit it in, we will be waiting forever.
It is our responsibility to make the time available for meditation, to make it a priority despite how busy (or otherwise) our schedules are.
Life’s responsibilities will always be there to distract and occupy us; meditation is something we must consciously and mindfully put to work in our lives if we wish to cultivate peace, bliss, and conscious evolution.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Enjoy your Monday! xo
