Today I celebrate my 25th birthday!
By the time this is scheduled to post, I will be on my way to Sauble Beach with a great group of friends ready to enjoy a day of fun in the sun!
I insist on going to the beach to celebrate every year. I really love water and am drawn to be near it; this way I’ve made sure I get to the beach at least once each summer!
I’m hoping to take some great photos while I’m up there – how gorgeous is the sunset photo (above) I captured at Sauble Beach when we were up there for my birthday last year?
I was one of those kids who grew up “13 going on 30” – anxious to discover who I was and what I was meant to do with my life, anxious to be independent, make my own decisions, and live life however I wanted to. I never believed the adults who told me to slow down and enjoy being a kid because, one day when I was older, I would wish that I could return to that carefree lifestyle without the responsibilities and demands of adult life.
Now I completely understand what they were saying. Life starts to go by a bit too quickly and, suddenly, you’re not a child anymore, and there is no going back to enjoy the freedom you may or may not have taken advantage of as a child.
My 24th year was a year of big changes, realizations, and personal growth. I was a single gal for most of it, and it was so good to spend a year learning to love and be completely content with myself and my life. And then I met and started to spend time with someone who complemented all the things I was focused on in my life, who has continued to enrich my life and bring peace, joy, and exciting new experiences into it! They really are right when they say that when you’re right with yourself, everything else falls into place.
I have a strong feeling inside me that everything I have learned and done this year has been necessary in preparing me for this next phase of life; almost like the first quarter-century was a growing chapter of my life preparing me for the next chapter where I continue to build on the solid base I’ve worked so hard to create.
I’ve been meaning to update my About the Author section for quite some time now to make it more relevant to the content on Canadian Macrobiotics and to give everyone a better idea of who I am and why I do what I do. What better time than now, as I move into my 25th year with lots of plans for continued growth and healing?
Thank you to my brother, Chris, and my awesome friend, Dessy, of Pavlova Publishing, for their time and generosity in helping me to edit the final piece.

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!
